Definition: This formula is designed to support the patient to experience their need for surgery in peace and confidence in their medical team and confidence and faith in the procedure going smoothly. There can be great anxiety and uncertainty when we receive a diagnosis from our medical professional telling us that we need an operation. Adults may be the patient and this can cause concern and anxiety pertaining to how to take care of their own needs as well as continuing to care for a family. Some surgical procedures are of our own choosing. Others are due to an accident and are urgent and beyond our control to make a decision. Some are needed to correct the illness; some procedures are scheduled and we first need to engage pre-operation orders from the doctor/veterinarian/medical professional.

Surgery can take the form of removing the splinter in a child’s finger, going to the dentist for a checkup and teeth cleaning, all the way to major surgery, organ transplants, removing a limb, or receiving a prosthesis.

Animals and children depend on the human adults to make decisions on their behalf. There can be a feeling of overwhelming for all involved in the patient’s need for surgery and medical care. Adults must engage with the medical professional, make the appointments, be the caregiver before, during, and after the procedure, be available to take the patient to the doctor/veterinarian, fill prescriptions, administer medications, and follow the doctor’s advice for recovery and rehabilitation.

The recovery process can have setbacks. Sometimes things can seem overly complicated such as taking medications, going to rehabilitation, or eating a specific diet. All can consume the patient and caregiver’s time. This formula will support and guide you to feel when it is time to push yourself as the caregiver and/or patient and when it is time to simply rest as the caregiver and/or patient.

This formula also supports the family members where the patient lives. Family members may not feel comfortable with the pre-op/post-op caregiving chores. This formula supports feeling confident in your caregiving ability, giving each member of the family the opportunity to offer assistance to the patient (human/animal) from their unique ability. If everyone involved in the patient’s recovery feels confident in their ability, compassion and kindness are what the patient receives. The patient’s immune system will respond to compassion and kindness, which aids in the healing process.

Any fears in the subconscious, the emotional body, mental body, your DNA that holds you stuck in doubt thinking that all that was done to assist the patient will need to be done again. Fears of recurrence can stir feelings of anger and vulnerability and mistrust in the care you are receiving. The body feels a lack of confidence in your healing and recovery which weakens your immune system further. These feelings are being replaced with courage, confidence, humor, peace, and calm as you feel and trust that the health professionals are doing their best on your behalf.
